This online session will explain how to record Intensive Interaction and Rapport-based Communication in the context of Special Needs education and also care.  The course is suitable for teachers, teaching assistants, support workers, and managers and will cover a number of approaches to recording, each of which is suitable for certain situations.  

Course content will include:

  • Principles and use of the Leuvan scale

  • Principles and use of the QCA pre-p-level engagement profile

  • Quick classroom wall charts for easy recording

  • Group and individual recording methods

  • Detailed recording sheets for PMLD

  • Whole class snapshot record for determining which students have higher levels of social need
